PRIMORDIAL
The Primordial grounds of the Infinite Gols universe was built for the Ultra-Bluster art show with fellow artist Rodger Binyone. The project was brought into fruition with the help of Josh Mills (electronics supervisor, environment development, and structural assistant), Jesse Van Anglen (figure painting), and Rodger Binyone (structural assistant, painting, and environment development.) Containing a multitude of geographical formations on an elongated game board, the organic arena houses 4 goals with strobe light actuated sensors, a central distribution mountain containing an addition goal light, and enough stick controllers to allow 2 to 6 player participation. 6 pool cue like figures (Floaters) enable contestants the capability of reaching nooks and crannies the slot players are not able to access. Additional button triggered figures were placed in the terrain to alter the course of action. Acoustically, an installed small keyboard and microphone with effects pedals invites a participant to comment or sing while flooding the base speakers with synthesized accompaniment. Various 3D and image altering spectacles were introduced to further transform the visual landscape. The Primordial system demo has laid the foundation for electronic and sonic development, opening the Infinite Gols worlds to wider vistas of sensory play. This game has since evolved aesthetically, structurally, and electronically and will take part in a traveling tournament arcade in the near future. Merechandise and manuals will be available in due time.
